Dual Language Immersion Master Plan
The dual language immersion plan was developed with the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education in mind. The purpose of these principles is to utilize them by the program as tools for continuous planning, implementation, and reflection (Howard et al, 2018). The objective of this master plan is to provide valuable information and guidance about the program to all staff, families, community members, and stakeholders. In addition, the plan provides information on literacy and content instruction that promotes bilingualism and biliteracy through the target language and the partner language (Spanish and English), high academic achievement, and socio-cultural competence awareness (Cloud, Genesee, & Hamayan, 2000; Hamayan, Genesee, & Cloud, 2013).
