About the Dual Language Immersion Program

The DLI Program will move from its current location at Megan Cope Elementary, to Hyatt Elementary. The new location for the DLI Program will be named the Edward Hyatt World Language Academy. The Academy will serve students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade, with plans to expand the program serve to students in Kindergarten through Eighth grade.  The San Jacinto Unified School District’s Dual Language Immersion Program offers English speaking and Spanish speaking students an exciting, enriching and challenging educational opportunity. The Dual Language Immersion (DLI) is an instructional model that provides content-based instruction to students in two languages where the goal is for the students, over a number of years of participation in the program, to become proficient and literate in both languages, while also meeting high academic standards. Our DLI students will excel in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in Spanish and English while achieving high levels of academic success.  The DLI students will also gain the bilingual skills and cross-cultural competencies needed to succeed in our multicultural society and global economy.
