My name is Maestro Jeffcoat. I grew up in Huntington Beach, California and began learning Spanish in my neighborhood at the age of 6. My parents do not speak Spanish but I was immersed in the language and culture in my community. I fell in love with the language and culture through the years. I grew up attending cultural celebrations like Baptisms, First Communions, Las Posadas, Quinceañeras, etc. As a matter of fact, I have been a chambelán for over 30 Quinceañeras and even choreographed Quinceañeras as a part-time job in high school and college. I study abroad in Madrid, Spain for one year and studied Spanish Philology. My first year of teaching was done abroad on a Fulbright Grant and I taught English in Rionegro, Colombia as well as volunteered at a Catholic orphanage and a Deaf institute. I returned to the U.S. and taught Spanish for two years at the high school level then went to Madrid, Spain to teach English in a public school. After that I taught Spanish at elementary schools, middle school and high schools. This is my 8th year as a teacher and now I am a 7th grade dual immersion teacher.
I am married and expecting my first baby November of 2021. I still play soccer and train parkour on the weekends. I love to travel, spend time with loved ones, and do outdoor activities.
